DIAMOND HEAD’s BRIAN TATLER Names His Favorite METALLICA Album
In a new interview with Rustyn Rose of MetalNation.com, guitarist Brian Tatler of British metal veterans DIAMOND HEAD was asked to name his favorite METALLICA album of all time. He said (see video below): “I’ll probably say the ‘black’ album is my favorite, because — partly, the production is incredible, and it’s chock-full of good songs. I saw them quite a few times on that tour as well — the ‘black’ album tour in ’91 and ’92 — so I’d get to hear things like ‘Wherever I May Roam’ or ‘Through The Never’. I think they did ‘Through The Never’ live. I like ‘Through The Never’. And, obviously, they played ‘[Enter] Sandman’ and ‘Sad But True’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters’. I’ve seen them do the ‘black’ album live as well, where they do it in reverse order, which was great.”Read Full Story MetallicaBirminghamMETALLICA AlbumLondonThe Black AlbumStudio AlbumBlack RoseLive VideoMetalNation.com` Garage Inc. DIAMOND HEAD’s BRIAN TATLER Says METALLICA Did His Band ‘A Huge Favor’ By Covering Its Songs
In the latest episode of “Tatler’s Tales”, DIAMOND HEAD guitarist Brian Tatler was asked for his opinion of METALLICA‘s cover versions of his band’s classic songs. “They’re great,” he said (see video below). “They’re always more powerful and a little faster than the DIAMOND HEAD versions. I mean, they’re a great band. They [have] their own sound. Of course, it was very flattering. The first song they covered was ‘Am I Evil’ They were the first band that ever covered a DIAMOND HEAD song. And it came out in 1984; it was on the ‘Creeping Death’ 12-inch single, which was on Music For Nations. And I was just really flattered that ‘Lars‘s [Ulrich] band’ had covered one of our songs and done such a respectful job and worked out the guitar solo. Everything was really good — really close to our version, but a bit more modern, a bit tougher, [with] more attitude.”Read Full Story The BandMetallicaCover VersionsLondonClassic SongsCover SongsClassic MusicGood MusicStudio AlbumMETALLICAMusic For Nations` Garage Inc.
