New homes are planned minutes away from a walkable, mixed-use downtown district. Orlando-based Roper Real Estate Inc. on Feb. 18 filed plans with the state for a subdivision with 100 single-family homes in DeLand. The community, called Grandview Gardens in the plans, would be built less than a 10-minute drive from DeLand’s historic downtown. The 31.5-acre site is owned by James K. Warner Family Trust. Roper Real Estate executives and representatives of the trust that owns the property could not be reached for comment.
